The Purpose of www.753eod.com

www.753eod.com, hereinafter referred to as the website, was created as a recruiting tool for the 753rd Ordnance Company (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) of the West Virginia Army National Guard.  I now must limit my time commitment to the website as my paying job takes priority.  I still field emails not specifically about joining the 753rd and attempt to send them off to the right people.  EOD needs good people and do my best to make sure we get them.  But first and foremost, this website is a recruiting tool for the 753rd EOD of the West Virginia Army National Guard.

Content

The website is progenerated by me, periodically reviewed by unit members, and has the support and authorization of the Commander.  I assume all responsibility for design and content.  All content is scrutinized to not expose any information that could compromise the safety of EOD Technicians or the security of our Nation.  If any content is brought into question it is quickly reviewed and either rewritten or deleted.  I have been queried for information from persons in foreign countries  and I am very aware of what I post online.

Army National Guard EOD Recruiting

As previously stated, the primary purpose of the website is to recruit qualified persons into the 753rd EOD.  However, EOD is a small and close-knit community and I am more than happy to help others join the profession.  I will answer all appropriate questions about the qualifications to join and how to join.  As I am myself an Army National Guard member, the secondary purpose of the website is to assist recruiting for all other Army National Guard EOD units.  I have contact information for each of them and will make introductions as applicable.

Active Army, Other Component EOD Recruiting

If you wish to join an ARNG EOD unit, I am able to help facilitate your recruitment.  If you wish to join Active Army EOD, contact your local Army Recruiter if you are not currently an Active Army Soldier.  If you are an Active Army Soldier and wish to transition MOS to Active Army EOD, contact the EOD Recruiters at the Special Operations Recruiting Battalion (SORB) located at FT. Bragg.  All others should contact a Recruiter for the component (AF, ANG, AF Reserve, Marine Corp, Navy, and etcetera) that you wish to serve.  Links are provided in the column to the left.

Foreign Inquiries

If you are not a United States citizen, I am not able to send you any information other than a polite reply.  You cannot join the US Military unless you are either a resident alien or US citizen, and cannot be granted a secruity clearance unless you have sole US citizenship.  I am unable to assist you with either.  For EOD Techs in foreign militaries, you will be able to access information through other channels within your governments, but not through me.  I am neither cleared nor willing to disseminate anything that isn’t open-source already.  I know you'll understand.

I do appreciate (happy, positive) comments left on the Comment Page from you guys though.

Have a Golden Ticket?

If you don't join the 753rd but do join EOD and found this website helpful and a factor in your decision, please send me an email.  I'd like to know that I do our community a service and bring good people into our ranks.   I'll also use that information to wield influence and power with senior military members- "Does The Hurt Locker1 fulfill your manning requirements like I do, General?  I think not."

Respectfully,
